    Longer than expected
    • Palermo to Tunis with Grimaldi Lines

Check in took 3 hours longer than expected, as well as the deboarding. So overall the trip was 17 hours (5 hours check in, 11 hours travel, 1 hour deboarding)

A cost effective way to travel from Sicily to north Italy without the long drive.
    • Palermo to Genoa with Grandi Navi Veloci

The ship was spacious and comfortable but the catering was very poor. The catering staff were rude and tried to chase us out of the dining room before the end of service so they could close early. The boarding process was an absolute disgrace. There were no instructions provided in advance on how to obtain the tickets, how to join the boarding queues, or even where we should wait to board. There appeared to be a total lack of organisation.
